CELESTIAL BODIES - JESSICA PEARCE

14 NOVEMBER - 7 DECEMBER

PRIVATE VIEW - 14 NOVEMBER  6-8PM

We're very excited to present this stunning collection of mixed media works by local printmaker Jessica Pearce.

This series explores the connection between humanity and science, focusing on our existence within the universe, our composition from particles and matter and connection with the spiritual world.

Jessica adds 'I don't pretend to understand quantum physics, but I am fascinated by how atoms and galaxies look so similar and how, somehow, we are made of both. The repeated shapes connect humanity, science and the celestial world.'

Jessica works from her studio in Saffron Walden. In 2022 she joined Curwen Print Study Centre in Thurlow as a member, reviving her passion for printmaking. Jessica likes to mix printmaking techniques like embossing, lino printing and mono printing, as well as recycling materials from her kitchen like salmon foil cards and Tetra Paks to create intaglio prints.

There is a freedom and playfulness to Jessica's process, preferring to experiment and print with a variety of materials and textures, adding different elements to each impression as she feels in the moment. This often means her editions are small and variable, further adding to the uniqueness of each piece.

Come and marvel at the beauty of Jessica's work. We also hope you will feel inspired to have fun with art yourself, without expectations, restrictions or rules. Just pure joy of the process.
