Born and raised in the depths of North Yorkshire, Emily Sutton graduated with a BA in illustration from Edinburgh College of Art, having also studied at York college, and for a semester at the Rhode Island School of Design. With a lifelong love of drawing, painting and crafting,her work incorporates a love of pattern and detail and is strongly influenced by the landscape and creatures of her surroundings in the Yorkshire countryside. This, as well as all kinds of wonderful objects found in and around her home, have formed the inspiration for a series of prints that have been published by both the Curwen and the Penfold Press since 2008.
