How do you choose the right frame?

Picture framing is a truly creative process and there are no strict rules on presentation. Each piece of artwork must be approached individually in order to allow it to shine through and give it the impact it deserves. A good framing solution will be visually sympathetic to the artwork. It must not overwhelm or fail to add aesthetic value, unless of course the purpose of the frame is to make a statement!

From a technical point of view a well constructed frame serves to protect the artwork and maintain it in pristine condition, and we are happy to advise on the best options for your needs. It can be difficult, if not impossible to choose the best framing for a piece of artwork without a personal viewing (although it may work for simpler projects such as the framing of film poster or certificate).

We are happy to give an estimate of cost and advice over the telephone or by email, but we would be delighted to meet you in person!

Selecting Your Mount

As standard we offer a large range of museum grade archival mounting. These are available in a variety of thicknesses and colours to enhance your artwork, and can be cut to any size or shape required. Mounts are precision cut in-house by our computerised mount cutting machine or hand finished as required.

Selecting Your Frame

We have a good range of modern contemporary & traditional mouldings to choose from to ensure you find the perfect match for your artworks or photographs. Our styles range from beautiful luxury woods to contemporary gallery frames. All are hand cut, stained, waxed by our experienced  framers.

Selecting Your Glass

We offer several types of specialist glazing, from non-reflective water white glass with various levels of UV protection as well as museum glass. We can demonstrate the difference for you and advise on the best options for your artwork. All our frames requiring glazing come with 2mm float glass as standard.
