In this workshop local artist Kate Faircliffe will teach you how to create your very own papercut artwork, cut from a single paper sheet using scalpel and scissors. Designs can be kept as single colour papercuts, or you will also be shown how to incorporate different layers of colour. You can choose to work from a pre-drawn template or, using skills taught and demonstrated, create your own individual designs.

This creative and relaxed workshop is designed for beginners, though those with prior experience will also be able to further develop their skills. All materials will be provided.

Kate Faircliffe is a local self-taught papercut artist, who first developed her interest for papercutting whilst living in Japan. Her papercuts are inspired by the villages and rural landscapes around her, as well as capturing moments of everyday life. Examples of Kate’s work can be found here with us at Church Street Gallery…
